PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is the art or process of producing images of objects on photosensitive surfaces. Photographic prints can be made from photographic negatives, positive transparencies or digital images. They can be printed on a wide variety of substrates, including photo paper, fine art paper, and canvas. They can be black and white or color.

Why do you need photography?

Photography serves many of the same purposes as illustrations. In commercial advertising, it is commonly used to depict a product in a favorable manor to heighten its consumer appeal. Product photography is essential to sales and marketing materials such as catalogs, circulars and sales sheets when a true-to life representation is necessary. Other times photographic images or textures may simply help to establish an emotion or mood. Many times quality imagery is the foundation to a successful design piece.

At Gentry Smith Design we believe a photograph should say a thousand words; however, shouldn’t necessarily cost thousands of dollars. We offer many cost effective options when it comes to imagery from stock-photography (royalty-free images) to custom professional photography solutions. We understand not all of our clients’ imagery needs are the same; therefore we will work with you to determine which application is best suited for your project usage and budget.
