IDENTITY, LOGO & BRANDING

Identity is how a person, business or entity is perceived by others. It is the combination of distinguishing features that isolates one from another, thus making them stand apart from their peers or competitors. It sounds simple enough, right?

So, how do we create a unique & unforgettable identity?

A good place to start is the logo mark. These iconic symbols have been used for centuries to graphically depict phrases, words and ideas. It is estimated that the average American is exposed to over 200 logos or brands per hour. Logos are everywhere from the products in your kitchen pantry to all of the billboards on your daily commute.  Like these examples, your logo needs to compete to gain recognition.

Next comes the skillful part, which is taking the client’s goals and mixing in the correct amount of intangibles or “creative process”.  The result is a logo that while on the surface is professional in appearance, also performs on another level to deliver the client’s message in a moments glance. This combination of design and ability to retain attention is the measure of a successful logo mark.

Print collateral or “business stationary” is another way to further develop your identity or brand. Like logos, the better designs rise above the rest. If your logo is your company’s face, then just like the saying “the clothes make the man”, the business cards, letterhead and other print goods make the company.
