| RETAIL PACKAGING Retail packaging generally serves two distinct purposes. Retail packaging is used to present a product in a favorable manner to heighten its appeal to the public and it must also protect and contain the contents. Packaging must maintain a balance between esthetics and function. Unlike most forms of print design, retail packaging requires a design that is multi-dimensional. Where do we begin when developing retail packaging? Most retailers require packaging to be engineered to certain standards for supply-chain distribution and for displaying within a store's merchandising strategy. If you are looking into developing packaging for retail sale, it is imperative to research the retail standards for case packing and display facing of your product(s). Once we have determined these guidelines, the next phase is to determine how the product mix will be positioned within your company’s brand. At Gentry Smith Design, our goal is to develop a packaging program that strengthens your product(s) image and increases your brand awareness through a strong visual presence. Retail packaging is often the final test of a well-developed product marketing plan. You have established a brand, educated the consumer on the product and directed them to the retailer. Now you just need the customer to complete the sale. BACK TO SERVICES |
